Chapter News

Folks,
I hope you all had a fantastic summer and have gotten your kids safely back to school. I wanted to give you a brief overview of what we have coming up over the next few months so you will be ready to participate.

Convention:
The convention is coming up on September 12th. We still have room for someone to join us. The training letter has been sent out by HQ making it official FAA training. We will have some excellent instructors and speakers out there. We will also be having a chapter gathering on Tuesday night during the convention. So, let me know if you would like to go!

Web site:
Most of you know that we had to cancel our web site at FAAMA157.com. There was a Russian drug company that hacked into the program and were trying to sell from the site. I was constantly having to remove information and spent hours on the phone trying to get the company to intervene. It was a hassle, so I stopped the site. Who came to our rescue??? Super Tech Man Dave Holly has already built us a new blog site and is hosting that page for us now. He is awesome. Thanks DAVE!!! Check it out at http://faama157.blogspot.com

Elections:
We have elections for office coming up in the fall. Every position is up for election. If you would like to run for the position of President, Vice President, Treasurer, or Secretary, we would love to have you run for the position. There will be more information coming out on that in the fall.

Chapter Dinner:
We have decided to move the December dinner to November. This prevents conflict with holiday parties and annual leave. Date and time will be decided soon and passed on to you. We have had fantastic attendance to all of our dinners, so let me thank you for your participation.

Riley and Friends Benefit Concert:
Members of our chapter have asked us to have the concert again next year. The Race for Riley folks are always thrilled to get our participation. That said, an event like the concert can not be accomplished without actually getting members to volunteer their time. You folks have always been awesome at supporting these events with your checkbook, but we do still need help on the committee. We did it with a skeleton crew last year, and more help would be appreciated. Giving time is always harder than giving money, but it does give you that warm feeling inside.  The date for the concert is currently set for Saturday, February 26th. Please offer to join us on the committee.

Thats it for now! Talk to you soon!
